The Need
Increasing Population
The body of Messiah in Israel has grown tremendously over the past 40 years with a significant percentage of people approaching old age. It has increased from some hundreds of believers to over 15,000.
The Faithful
Many of these aging brothers and sisters in the body of Messiah in Israel are those who have served faithfully as pioneers in building God’s kingdom for many years. There is a debt which needs to be repaid.
Our Responsibility
The most forgotten and neglected segment of the population are the elderly. The Lord has commanded us to care for the orphans and widows as well as to honor the fathers and mothers.
Medical Needs
As people age, their medical needs also grow. There is a need for some members of the believing community for a home where their physical needs can be taken care of in an atmosphere of faith and the Word of God.
Life Lessons
Moreover, many of these same brothers and sisters still have a lot to offer. Their legacy, experience, and life lessons can and should be passed on to the next generation.
Community
An additional need of the elderly is related to loneliness. In a community setting, these precious saints will be able to be spend their remaining days in peaceful and joyful fellowship with others.
“Do not cast me away when I am old;
do not forsake me when my strength is gone.”
Psalm 71:9
Our Vision
A home for independent and assisted living as well as full care nursing department for 112 people total
The facility will be built on a beautiful and believer owned Moshav called Yad HaShmona on 6,000 sq. meters of land. This will provide a solid base of community and connection for everyone living at Beit Hesed. This also means that the facility will be 100% believer owned and run.
Beit Hesed will serve the greater Jerusalem area as well as all central and southern Israel. It will meet all standards of the Israeli Welfare and Health Ministries. Thus needy residents will be entitled to receive financial aid from the government. With this in mind, a business plan has been worked out wherein Beit Hesed will remain sustainable while keeping costs down for residents.
